Why Should You Learn NLP?
One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular
Most people go about life without really knowing their purpose in life – or subtly put they don’t know what they want! Their focus is usually on how to get by rather than chase their dreams. They are the mediocre class of people living conventional lives with little to show for their existence.
Chasing dream for mediocre people involves stepping into uncharted territory and unpredictability. Their mind chatter is something like, “What if the chase turns into a failure? Better just get by and play it safe.”
This is not surprising as it is the brain’s prime objective to keep you from danger and safe. And at first sight there is nothing wrong with it. But in having such an attitude we focus more on risks, unknown, danger, & unpredictability etc., and live our lives preoccupied with a mindset that reads ‘avoid pain at all costs’. The downside of this mindset being that we fail to notice the opportunities that also come our way!!!
This is where NLP steps in!
NLP helps in recognition of your mindset most of which resides in your unconscious mind. And as the term states you’re hardly ever conscious about your mindset although it literally drives your life and everything you do. NLP helps you to become conscious of your mindset (strengths, weaknesses, & the way it operates). Once you become aware of how your mind operates; you’re then in a position to make necessary changes so it operates the way you want it to operate - choose to build on your strengths and improve on your weaknesses.
NLP also helps you to identify, what exactly you want in life and shows you how to go from where you are to where you want to go. Once you understand your or others mind processes, you’re then in a better position to build on it and help yourself or others who are unaware of their mindsets.
From my experience of teaching NLP most people learn NLP to facilitate the following important aspects of life:
- Gain more confidence
- Communicate more effectively – be more persuasive & assertive
- Develop healthy and meaningful relations; both at work and at home
- Earn money, fame, & status etc.,
- Help others in resolving their problems and improve on the quality of their lives
- Have better health & lead a better life overall
